The question is not how annoying the problem is. It is whether leaving it causes damage. If it does not, today is the right answer and you should not be paying emergency rates for it.
A great deal of what gets booked as emergency plumbing is not. A toilet that runs, a tap that drips, a slow bathroom drain, a water heater that is getting tired. All genuinely worth fixing, none of them worth a midnight call-out.
The reason this matters is that the emergency framing is where homeowners get taken advantage of. If a company will not tell you that your problem is a same day job rather than a tonight job, ask yourself why.

What we treat as same day
Anything contained. The fixture still works or can be isolated, the water is not spreading, and nobody is going without something essential.
Practically that covers most drain slowdowns, most fixture leaks, running toilets, low pressure at a single tap, and water heater problems in mild weather where there is no leak.
It also covers the follow-up half of an overnight call. If we capped something at 2am because a part was not available, the finishing visit is same day work.
What same day work costs
There is no diagnostic fee Monday to Friday before 4pm. After 4pm, at weekends and on holidays the diagnostic fee is $175, and that is credited toward the repair if you approve the work. Published prices for the common jobs are on the costs page, and whatever the hour you hear the price and agree to it before any work starts.
Same day work during normal hours is the cheapest way to buy a plumber, which is exactly why it is worth knowing whether your problem qualifies.

How is same day different from emergency?
Emergency means damage is happening now. Same day means it will not get materially worse before we get there. Same day work is normally cheaper and there is no reason to pay emergency rates for it.
